The early taste of summer has set in across Greece, with temperatures soaring above 20°C. The next few days will bring even higher temperatures, but along with the warmth, African dust is set to sweep in, making the atmosphere uncomfortable.

On March 9, the weather felt more like June, with people heading to the coast for swimming, sunbathing, and beach games. In Flisvos, the beach was packed, with many enjoying coffee by the sea, while some braved the waters for an early swim. Even tourists joined in, taking advantage of the unseasonably warm weather.

Thessaloniki: A City Soaking Up the Sun

According to Professor Andreas Kazadzidis, an expert in atmospheric physics, the rise in temperature is expected for this time of year, but the levels of dust and heat extremes will be closely monitored.
