Mick Jagger in Chania, Crete – Tours Sites, Dines Out

The legendary Rolling Stones frontman also fielded a question about the Parthenon Marbles, smiling and merely saying he has no position on the matter

Legendary rock star Mick Jagger was seen in and around Chania (Hania), Crete, over the weekend, visiting a handful of archaeological sites and even being asked by a reporter from a local site – zarpanews – about his position on a repatriation of the Parthenon Marbles, to which he replied, with a smile, that he doesn’t have a position.

The frontman for the Rolling Stones made the brief statement while at the port city’s old Venetian port.

At the same time, he was enthusiastic about the Archea Eleftherna site and the Kastelli Hill, where he was given a private guided tour.

The local culture ministry-affiliated eforate (department) of antiquities has been notified beforehand of Jagger’s arrival, who toured the archaeological sites and dined at a local taverna, all the while trying to stay out of the limelight.
