Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias on Wednesday toured an under-construction second drone production unit, operated by the military, operated by the military near the northeast city of Xanthi.
According to the defense ministry, the unit is expected to have a capacity of producing 1,000 FPV units per months.
Dendias was accompanied by the chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff (HNDGS), Gen. Dimitrios Houpis, as well as other top military officers.
During his tour of the 316th technical unit, Dendias was greeted with traditional Christmas carols, while he had the opportunity to tour the facility’s premises, talk and exchange greetings with servicemen and women.
The Greek armed forces’ Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Systems Department was developed and completed in a short period of time at the specific site near Xanthi.
