US President Donald Trump and King Charles viewed a military ceremony in Windsor on Wednesday afternoon after the president earlier laid a wreath at the late Queen Elizabeth’s tomb in St George’s Chapel, following a guard of honor and carriage procession at Windsor Castle.
The King and Trump shared a coach, while Queen Camilla and First Lady Melania Trump followed behind in another – the Prince and Princess of Wales also took part.
A scaled-down Red Arrows flypast and lavish state banquet are still to come. Meanwhile, an anti-Trump demonstration is under way in London, with protesters also among the crowds in Windsor.
Fashion analysis: One stylist says the Queen and Catherine “coordinated diplomatic dressing”, another says the first lady’s wide-brimmed hat shows she “wants all eyes on her husband”.
