Opinion Poll: Ruling ND’s Distance from PASOK at 16.3% Points

Asked to rate incumbent PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ second government, 27.5% of respondents said they were satisfied, compared to 70.7% declaring dissatisfaction

Ruling New Democracy (ND) party continues to field yet another double-digit percentage point lead over its nearest rival, socialist/social democrat PASOK, in the latest of a handful of opinion polls released this month.

Results of the poll, conducted by the firm Opinion Poll and aired on the regional broadcaster Action24, also show eight political parties entering Parliament if elections were held on Sunday.

To enter Parliament a party must pick up more than 3% of the votes in a general election (of valid votes).

Center-right ND is shown at 30.1%, compared to 13.8% for PASOK. Right-of-center and Euroskeptic Elliniki Lysi (Greek Solution) is gauged at 11.2%, with Zoe Konstantopoulou’s left-of-center and equally Euroskeptic Plefsi Elefterias (Course of Freedom) party at 10.9%. Another four lesser parties, two already in Parliament and two not, are shown at above the 3% threshold.

The poll has undecided voters at 19.4%.

Asked to rate incumbent PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ second government, 27.5% of respondents said they were satisfied, compared to 70.7% declaring dissatisfaction.

Just as tellingly, asked with party exercised the most effective opposition, 45.1% of respondents answered “none”.
