Global outages that disrupted several popular online services and platforms like Amazon AWS, Snapchat, Robinhood, and Fortnite, affecting millions of users earlier on Monday, are being restored, Amazon said.
A little after 1 pm, the company stated the problems were gradually being addressed. “We continue to observe a restoration of most services affected by Amazon Web Services,” the company said.
AWS is one of the giant cloud computing service providers, competing with Google and Microsoft’s cloud services to offer on-demand computing power, data storage, and other digital services to companies and institutions.
“We continue to work toward a full resolution of the problem and will provide a new update when we have more information,” the company said.
Amazon Web Services (AWS), the world’s largest cloud service, hosts thousands of websites and enterprise information systems on its servers around the globe.
Snapchat, Perplexity, Roblox, Tinder, and Duolingo were among the platforms that went offline, according to Downdetector, which estimated that roughly 500 companies worldwide were affected by the outage.
