Athens Issues Travel Advisory for Parts of the Mideast

'The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, taking into account the developing situation in the Middle East, advises Greek citizens to avoid visits—unless absolutely necessary—to Israel, the Palestinian Territories, and Iran, the terse announcement read

Greece’s foreign ministry on Friday afternoon issued a warning to Greek citizens to avoid travel to Israel, the Palestinian territories and Iran, citing the latest developments in the Middle East and Iran.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, taking into account the developing situation in the Middle East, advises Greek citizens to avoid visits—unless absolutely necessary—to Israel, the Palestinian Territories, and Iran,” was the terse announcement.

The warning echoed a similar travel advisory issued by the US State Department in Washington, given that if a conflict arises in the next few days, it will most certainly pit US forces seeking to destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities or other strategic assets, such as ballistic missiles.

Nevertheless, representatives of Washington and Tehran continue to negotiate at last glance.
