A car struck a group of children in Berlin on Thursday, injuring several of them along with one of their guardians, according to German media reports.

The incident involved a BMW that veered off course while taking a turn, colliding with children aged seven to eight. The German newspaper Bild reported that some of the children suffered light injuries, while their guardian was seriously hurt and taken to hospital. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

Photos from the scene show the man leaning against his car as he was questioned by police. The BMW’s left front headlight appeared damaged following the collision.

Emergency services, including police and firefighters, remained at the scene. Authorities confirmed the crash was an accident and said no further risk to the public was identified.
