The White House on Sunday released photographs showing U.S. President Donald Trump monitoring in real time a U.S. military operation that led to the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife in Caracas.
According to the White House, Trump followed the operation, codenamed “Absolute Resolve,” from his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. The images show the president seated in a monitoring room, wearing a jacket and white shirt without a tie, closely observing live mission data.
Senior U.S. officials were seen alongside Trump, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and CIA Director John Ratcliffe, as the operation unfolded.
One of the images was released in black-and-white, a stylistic choice that U.S. officials said was intended to underscore the gravity and significance of the moment.
