Lily Collins Jokes About Greek PM’s Love for Emily in Paris

The Netflix star playfully teased Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on U.S. television after revealing he unwinds by watching Emily in Paris with his wife

Actor Lily Collins, the star of Netflix’s hit series Emily in Paris, made a light-hearted remark about Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, sparking laughter from the audience.

While discussing the show’s latest storyline — in which the main character is torn between life in Rome and Paris — host Jimmy Fallon joked that “European leaders are now fighting over Emily in Paris.” Collins joined in on the fun, calling it “a European love triangle.”

She then mentioned Mitsotakis directly, noting that he recently revealed the series is a favorite in his household. “the Greek Prime Minister recently said that his wife’s favorite show is Emily in Paris. And that after a long day, what he wants is to go home and watch it with her.”

Laughing, she added: “I thought — what? After a long day at the office? You mean… governing Greece? And then you go home and watch Emily in Paris?”

Mitsotakis has previously spoken about the show, saying in a 2023 television interview in Greece that he enjoys watching it with his wife as a form of “complete relaxation.”
