Trump Uses Soccer Analogy to Criticize Biden on Ukraine

In a cryptic post, Donald Trump claimed Ukraine cannot win the war if confined to defense, accusing President Biden of weakening Kyiv’s chances and hinting at “interesting developments.”

U.S. President Donald Trump has sparked speculation with a new statement on the war in Ukraine, posted Thursday on his platform Truth Social.

In the message, Trump compared Ukraine’s struggle against Russia to a soccer team forced to play only defense, arguing that victory is impossible without an offensive strategy. “It’s very difficult, if not impossible, to win a war without attacking the attacker’s country. It’s like a team with great defense but not allowed to play offense. There is no chance to win,” he wrote, adding: “That’s how it is with Ukraine and Russia.”

Trump went on to accuse President Joe Biden of restricting Ukraine to a defensive role, saying this policy eliminated any chance of success. He described Biden as “corrupt and incompetent” and claimed the war would not have begun had he been president.

The former president also hinted at “interesting developments” ahead, fueling fresh debate about the stance he may adopt if he returns to the White House.
