The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, delivered his first public remarks since Iran launched missile strikes targeting his Gulf nation, emphasizing that the UAE is resilient and not an easy target.
Speaking on Friday while visiting patients injured in the attacks, and aired on Abu Dhabi TV on Saturday, the president said: “The UAE has thick skin and bitter flesh — we are no easy prey.” He underscored the country’s commitment to defending its citizens and residents alike.
Commitment to Citizens and Residents
Sheikh Mohamed highlighted that the UAE’s seven emirates, including Dubai, would protect everyone within its borders. “We will carry out our duty towards our country, our people, and our residents who are also part of our family,” he said, reinforcing the nation’s stance amid rising tensions in the Gulf.
