Katerina Didaskalou, one of Greece’s most acclaimed actresses, recently revealed on the OPEN TV network that she was առաջարկed a role in The Riders, the new film starring Brad Pitt, parts of which were filmed in Greece. Despite her initial enthusiasm, she ultimately chose to decline the offer after her agent deemed the role too minor for her career standing.
The film, which showcases Greek landscapes within an international production, has drawn attention for bringing the country’s scenery to a global audience. Didaskalou explained that while she greatly admires Pitt as an actor, the part she was offered did not align with the level she has reached professionally.

“Of course I would have liked to take part in such a film. They offered me a small role, but my casting agent told me, ‘it’s not for you.’ It was something very limited. You never stop dreaming. I deeply respect Brad Pitt as an actor,” she noted.
The production also includes other Greek participants, primarily in supporting or background roles, as well as actor Kimonas Kouris. Their presence highlights the film’s effort to incorporate local talent into a major international project, offering opportunities for Greek performers while grounding the story in its setting.

Didaskalou’s decision underscores the importance of selective role choices in sustaining a long and distinguished acting career, reaffirming her commitment to maintaining a trajectory that reflects both her experience and artistic standards.
