Christmas Favourites Return to Park Your Cinema at SNFCC

From December 22 to January 6, classic Christmas favorites and beloved holiday films light up the screen, bringing warmth, laughter, and the magic of the season to the heart of Athens

Warm layers, cozy blankets, steaming cups of tea or cocoa—and a winter sky full of stars. This is how the holiday season begins at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, as Park Your Cinema returns with a festive edition that turns winter nights into shared moments of warmth, nostalgia, and movie magic.

From December 22 to January 6, the much-loved open-air film screening series invites visitors to gather at the Park Kiosk and welcome Christmas the best way possible: outdoors and together. Against the backdrop of the park, classic and contemporary holiday films unfold on screen, creating evenings that feel intimate, joyful, and quietly enchanting.

The program moves effortlessly between fantasy, humor, romance, and adventure. From the dreamy world of Edward Scissorhands and the sharp, satirical spirit of Scrooged, to the playful chaos of Home Alone 2 and the heartfelt warmth of Love Actually, each screening becomes a small escape into the essence of the season.

Viewers will board The Polar Express, smile through Deck the Halls, rediscover wonder with The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and—once again—settle the perennial debate by welcoming Die Hard as part of the Christmas canon.

Curated by the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, the selection speaks to all ages and moods, offering nights filled with laughter, emotion, and stories that stay with us long after the credits roll. Above all, Park Your Cinema is a gentle reminder that the holidays shine brighter when experienced together—wrapped in warmth, under the open sky, sharing stories that feel like home.
