Greece’s homegrown streaming platform Cinobo has released its annual roundup of the films and series most watched by its subscribers in 2025, offering a revealing snapshot of contemporary viewing habits and cinematic tastes across the country.
Founded in 2020 by a team of dedicated cinephiles, Cinobo has carved out a distinct place in the streaming landscape by focusing on award-winning, beloved, and hard-to-find films from Greece and around the world, alongside curated collections and exclusive premieres. Rather than chasing algorithms, the platform has steadily built a loyal audience drawn to auteur cinema, strong storytelling, and films that travel beyond the mainstream.
In its end-of-year post, Cinobo invited viewers to look back at the titles that dominated their screens over the past year: “Which movies crashed Cinobo’s servers in 2025? Which series kept you up all night? It’s that time of year again when we publish our annual collection of your favorites.”
The list reflects a wide-ranging appetite—from contemporary festival favourites and intimate dramas to cult classics and series that sparked binge-watching. Among the most-watched titles were an Oscar-winning animated cat that charmed audiences worldwide, a rousing Irish hip-hop story, and a slow-burning romantic series that followed a decade-long situationship through New Year’s Eves.

Maria (2024)
