The emblematic Riviera Tower at The Ellinikon site in coastal southeast Athens, billed as Europe’s largest urban regeneration project, is nearing completion, according to Lamda Development, the ATHEX-listed real estate holding company.
The tower, which will be Greece’s tallest building once completed, can already been seen on the horizon throughout much of the high points in the greater Athens-Piraeus area.
Construction has now reached the 40th storey, with 10 more floors remaining to be built. The total length of the tower will be 197 meters.
Work to install window frames and glass planes are underway, as the latest drone footage shows.
The Ellinikon property development project is valued at eight billion euros. It entails a 6.2 million-square-meter urban redevelopment to transform Athens’ one-time international airport at the Helleniko district and the adjacent coastal front into a “smart, 15-minute city”.
