Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis stated Greece was one step closer to recognizing a Palestinian state on Tuesday.
The statement followed a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs between Gerapetritis and the Palestinian Foreign Minister Varsen Aghabekian Shahin in Athens.
The Greek Foreign Minister emphasized Greece’s role in the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, noting that the country “intends to mobilize the private sector” to support this effort.
Speaking about the next day in the region, as well as the progress already made and the steps that remain, Gerapetritis stressed that Greece is now one step closer to its stated position of recognizing the State of Palestine.
