Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis spoke by phone on Thursday with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, with discussion reportedly touching on the latest developments in the wider region.
According to reports, the Greek leader underlined the need to free the hostages held by Hamas, something he also reiterated in a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a few days ago.
He also cited the extremely serious humanitarian situation in Gaza at present, and the need for an immediate ceasefire to achieve an uninterrupted flow of humanitarian assistance to the besieged enclave.
Athens and Tel-Aviv have significantly upgraded relations over the past few decades, including in the military and geopolitical fields.
