Greek PM Praises Job Gains and Metro Milestone in Sunday Address

Turning to the agricultural sector, the Prime Minister noted that “December will be a month of substantial support for the farming community.”

In his Sunday message on November 30, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis addressed key developments in employment, agriculture, and infrastructure during his weekly Facebook briefing.

“The past few years have seen Greece achieve the largest reduction in unemployment across Europe, with 500,000 new jobs created,” Mitsotakis said, highlighting the recent agreement on collective labor contracts.

“Greater flexibility in extending collective agreements to cover more sectors and workers establishes uniform rules in the labor market, providing employees with more security and higher incomes, while offering stability to employers,” he added.

Turning to the agricultural sector, the Prime Minister noted that “December will be a month of substantial support for the farming community.”

Mitsotakis also reflected on the first anniversary of the Thessaloniki Metro. “A project that, as expected, would transform daily commuting for residents and visitors of Greece’s second-largest metropolitan area has indeed done so. It has become so integrated into everyday life that it feels as though it has always been there,” he remarked.
