Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis was among a handful of national leaders on Thursday wishing Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan a happy birthday, as the long-time leader of the country celebrated his 72nd birthday. He was born in 1954.
According to a post on X by the Turkish presidency, Erdogan received the best wishes in phone calls, with others calling including the presidents of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, along with the Bosnian member on the Bosnia and Herzegovina presidential council, Denis Bećirović.

Mitsotakis and Erdogan met in Ankara earlier this month for the sixth High-Level Cooperation Council between Greece and Turkey, a framework that brings together several counterpart ministers for direct talks.
