Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited Thessaloniki on Thursday as part of government preparations for the 89th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), one of the country’s most important political and economic events.
In line with tradition, the Prime Minister held a meeting with MPs representing Thessaloniki’s two constituencies. According to government officials, this year’s gathering took place in an atmosphere described as the “best ever” compared with similar meetings in previous years.
The MPs raised a series of local issues, reflecting both ongoing challenges and the improved mood reported among residents in Greece’s second-largest city. Discussions focused particularly on major infrastructure projects, with Mitsotakis responding to each point raised.
He reportedly emphasized that the government’s priority is to deliver on its commitments while sustaining public expectations for the future.
The meeting comes just days before the Thessaloniki International Fair opens, a venue traditionally used by Greek leaders to outline economic priorities and policy directions for the year ahead.
