A security alert was triggered outside the Hellenic Parliament on the morning of Tuesday, July 7, after a suspicious envelope addressed to Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, was discovered in an exterior area of the building.

Early reports indicate that the suspicious envelope arrived at a security checkpoint, containing an unidentified white powder. According to unconfirmed sources, the envelope addressed to the prime minister, is believed to have been sent by a Russian national.

Authorities responded swiftly, mobilizing significant resources to ensure the safe removal of the item. According to recent reports, a total of 12 firefighters, including members of the Special Disaster Response Unit (EMAK), were deployed to the scene. Four fire service vehicles were also dispatched to support the operation.
