101 Scholarships by UGS for Academic Year 2026-27

Union of Greek Shipowners President Melina Travlos: 'Our Scholarship Program reflects the longstanding commitment of Greek shipping to decisively support the younger generation'

The Union of Greek Shipowners (UGS) continues to support the education sector in Greece with the granting of scholarships as the mainstay of its social work, with the postgraduate scholarship program “SYN-ENOSIS for Education”, among others, strengthened and expanded every year.

For the academic year 2025–2026, UGS offered 130 scholarships, supporting college students, as well as their families, from 21 regions of Greece, helping them pursue their postgraduate studies in 10 academic fields, in 11 different countries and 49 universities in Greece and abroad.

For the academic year 2026–2027 UGS is offering more than 100 scholarships, as well as the scholarship with the symbolic title “Excellence,” which is awarded to a candidate who has achieved outstanding academic performance, for studies in Greece and abroad, in pre-doctoral level postgraduate programs of one- or two-year full-time study with physical attendance.

Within this framework, the opening of applications for the annual postgraduate scholarship program of the Union of Greek Shipowners has been announced, via www.ugs.gr and www.syn-enosis.gr.

Travlos: A program that grows year by year

“Our Scholarship Program reflects the longstanding commitment of Greek shipping to decisively support the younger generation. It is a program that grows year by year, embracing an ever-increasing number of outstanding students. We invite young men and women, from every corner of the country and from every academic field, to become members of the Union of Greek Shipowners’ scholarship community, upholding the power of knowledge and excellence as the foundation of progress for our homeland and Hellenism.”
