A 15-year-old student was arrested after causing extensive damage at two schools in the Greek town of Itea, in an incident that also led to the arrest of his father, police said.
According to authorities, the teenager first broke into one school, forcing open a door and vandalizing classrooms and facilities. The damage included destroyed desks, teachers’ offices, libraries, and electronic equipment worth thousands of euros. Police said several laptops were also stolen during the break-in.
The following day, the minor allegedly targeted a second school, where he caused similar destruction and set a fire inside the building. Officials said the blaze further increased the scale of the damage, though no injuries were reported.
Information cited by police suggests the teenager had ongoing problems with teachers at his school, a factor now being examined as part of the investigation.
Officers later located the suspect, who reportedly resisted arrest. During the operation, police also arrested the boy’s father on charges of failing to properly supervise a minor.
