A 19-year-old convenience store employee in Thessaloniki was hospitalized after being violently assaulted inside the shop by two young men, according to Greek police.

The two attackers, aged 19 and 17, entered the store where the victim was working and began beating him with their fists, kicks and two metal rods, Greek media outlet Thestival reported.

The employee was injured during the attack and was taken to a hospital in Thessaloniki, where he remains under medical care, according to the Hellenic Police.

Authorities are examining whether the assault was connected to personal disputes between those involved.

The two suspects were located and arrested by officers from the Greek motorcycle police unit, who responded to the area after the incident was reported.

The arrested individuals are expected to appear before judicial authorities.
