The countdown has begun for the region’s biggest aviation festival. On September 6–7, the Athens Flying Week—Tanagra International Airshow takes off once again at Tanagra Air Base, bringing back the largest air show in the Eastern Mediterranean, stronger and more spectacular than ever.
Dozens of fighter jets, aerobatic teams, and transport aircraft, with at least 16 international participants, promise another breathtaking performance for thousands of aviation enthusiasts. Now a firmly established tradition, the event will showcase the latest aircraft and helicopters alongside legendary flyers of the past.
Fighter jets in the spotlight
Leading this year’s Athens Flying Week 2025 are France’s Rafale jets, with the Rafale Solo Display returning to Tanagra with a renewed, high-adrenaline program. Germany’s Eurofighter Typhoon from TaktLwG31 “Boelcke” will make its debut before Greek audiences, while Italy’s striking Tornado and the AW139 helicopter will also appear for the first time. The Austrian Pilatus PC-7 team will once again delight spectators of all ages, joined by Slovenia’s PC-9s.
At this year’s Athens Flying Week 2025, the spectacular Eurofighter Typhoon of the Royal Saudi Air Force will take to the skies, alongside the Phoenix Paramotor aerobatic team, whose daring performances are set to impress even the most demanding spectators.
Naturally, Greece’s Hellenic Air Force Demo Teams will also be part of the region’s biggest aviation celebration, with the F-16 “Zeus” and T-6 “Daedalus” delivering thrills and adrenaline to the crowd. They will be joined by F-16 Vipers, Rafales, Mirage 2000-5s, the brand-new M-346 trainers, and the legendary F-4 Phantoms — considered the “holy grail” for aviation enthusiasts worldwide.
