Athens traffic police have announced a series of restrictions on Sunday due to the Kallithea Half Marathon 2025, which will take place in the southern suburb.
According to the measures, both traffic flow and parking will be suspended on several streets from 6:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in order to ensure the smooth running of the event.
Roads affected by traffic closures:
• Service road of Syngrou Avenue (direction toward Piraeus), from Lysikratous to Evripidou
• Sokratous (Lysikratous to Evripidou)
• Irakleous (Lysikratous to Evripidou)
• Dimosthenous (Solonos to Evripidou, both directions)
• Doiranis (Solonos to Evripidou, both directions)
• Evripidou (Syngrou Avenue service road to Epameinonda–L. Katsoni)
• Epameinonda–L. Katsoni (Doiranis to old Poseidonos Avenue, including perpendicular streets up to the first parallel)
• N. Votsi (Peisistratou to old Poseidonos Avenue)
• Lysikratous (Epameinonda–L. Katsoni to Syngrou Avenue)
• Tagmatarhou Plessa (Epameinonda–L. Katsoni to Syngrou Avenue)
• Achilleos (Epameinonda–L. Katsoni to Syngrou Avenue)
Roads with no stopping or parking allowed:
• Doiranis (Solonos to Evripidou)
• Evripidou (Syngrou Avenue service road to Epameinonda–L. Katsoni)
• Epameinonda–L. Katsoni (Doiranis to old Poseidonos Avenue)
• Peisistratou (SNFCC entrance to Epameinonda)
• N. Votsi (Peisistratou to old Poseidonos Avenue)
The Traffic Police are urging drivers to avoid these areas during the hours of restriction and to follow the directions of on-site officers in order to minimize congestion and delays.
Race schedule for the 6th Kallithea Half Marathon:
• 08:30 – Half Marathon
• 11:30 – 10 km race
• 11:40 – 5 km race
• 12:45 – Children’s 2.5 km race
