Bomb Attack on Jacky O Nightclub Solved, Three Arrested

Authorities have arrested two brothers and another suspect in connection with a bomb explosion at Thessaloniki’s Jacky O nightclub, believed to be linked to an attempted extortion against the club owner

Greek authorities have solved the October bomb attack at the popular Jacky O nightclub in the Ilisia district of Thessaloniki. Three individuals were taken into custody in connection with the incident, which occurred at 10:00 PM on October 7, 2025.

The suspects include two Albanian brothers, previously known to law enforcement for robbery-related offenses. Investigators say one brother allegedly planted the explosive device at the club entrance, while the other drove the getaway vehicle. Surveillance footage and witness testimonies helped authorities track their movements that night.

The attack is believed to have been motivated by the nightclub owner’s refusal to pay extortion money for so-called “protection.” Police describe the bomb placement as a warning to coerce compliance. One of the arrested men admitted receiving 5,000 euros to carry out the attack on behalf of an unidentified couple with previous disputes with the owner.

A third suspect, a woman of Albanian descent, was initially investigated after being captured on security cameras in the vicinity, but authorities determined she had no involvement in the bombing.

Police continue to investigate the case, seeking to identify the couple believed to have orchestrated the attack.
