Brazilian Man Nabbed at Athens Airport With 100 Swallowed Packs of Cocaine

The alleged 'drug mule' had arrived in Athens from Paris, after first having from Sao Paolo

A Brazilian man was arrested at the Eleftherios Venizelos Athens International Airport on Monday after authorities detected that he had swallowed no less than 100 plastic packets filled with cocaine.

The man flew into Athens from Paris, and after first landing there from Sao Paolo, Brazil.

All in all, the cocaine carried by the alleged “drug mule” exceeded one kilo, one of the largest such hauls ever recorded in the country with a smuggling method deemed as highly dangerous for the carrier.

Had any one of the 100 plastic packets opened the man would have been dead within a few minutes.

Police released x-rays showing the man’s abdomen filled with the plastic containers filled with the drugs.
