Compensation Βegins for Wildfire-affected Residents in Greece

Insurance companies have started paying rapid compensation to policyholders hit by recent wildfires, while also providing equipment, community aid and animal welfare support in affected regions

Compensation payments have begun for residents affected by the recent wildfires in Greece, with insurance providers Interamerican and its digital brand Anytime announcing swift support for policyholders.

According to the company, the first compensation payments were completed within 72 hours of claims being submitted, with the process continuing for all affected clients. So far, 19 damage cases have been recorded across Attica, Achaia, Chios and Zakynthos, with total losses exceeding €1 million. The majority of claims concern residential properties, though some involve vehicles, including cases of total destruction.

Beyond financial compensation, Interamerican and Anytime have also provided practical assistance to firefighting and community relief efforts. Firefighting equipment, including hoses and related gear, was donated to volunteer forest firefighters in Attica to help contain blazes in Kryoneri and protect the wider Parnitha region.

The company also supported The Love Van, a volunteer initiative providing free meals in fire-hit areas such as Kato Achaia, and is planning further actions in collaboration with local authorities on the island of Chios.

In addition, Anytime extended aid to animal welfare by supporting Dogs’ Voice, an organization offering care to animals endangered by the fires. The contribution will help provide food, veterinary treatment and shelter for pets and strays affected in Attica and Achaia.

“Interamerican’s health units and roadside assistance teams remain fully operational, ensuring 24/7 support for policyholders,” the company said in its announcement.
