Α powerful explosion on Wednesday afternoon inside a residence in the central Greece port city of Volos claimed the lives of two women.
According to local press reports, the explosion occurred shortly before 4 p.m. in the city’s Aghia Paraskevi district, with initial information citing two victims, aged approximately 80 and 60, believed to be mother and daughter. A third individual, younger in age, was injured and transported to a local hospital. Her condition was not announced.
A preliminary assessment points to an explosion caused by a gas cylinder, possibly from a stove, although an investigation is continuing. The explosion was described as powerful and causing significant damage.
