Father and Children Rescued from Strong Sea Currents in Greece

A dramatic rescue unfolded on a Thessaloniki beach when a Romanian father and his two children were swept away by strong currents. A nearby SUP paddler intervened, bringing the family safely back to shore

A father and his two children were dramatically rescued from strong sea currents on Sunday, August 17, at a beach in Epanomi, near Thessaloniki, Greece.

The family, tourists from Romania, was swept out by powerful waves during the afternoon. In a widely circulated video, the children can be seen struggling against the currents while their father had already been carried several meters away from shore.

Fortunately, a nearby beachgoer on a stand-up paddleboard (SUP) rushed to their aid. He helped the children return safely to the beach and then guided the father back to safety.

All three family members are reported to be in good health following the incident.
