Ice Cream Prices Rise Ahead of Summer Season

Consumers are facing higher costs for one of summer’s most popular treats, with scoop prices increasing while portions in some products continue to shrink

Ice cream lovers are set to pay more this summer as price increases hit one of the season’s most popular refreshments.

According to market figures, the cost of a single scoop of ice cream served in a cup has risen compared with last year. Prices that ranged between €2 and €4 in 2025 are now reaching between €2.50 and €4.50, with some servings approaching the €5 mark.

Rising Costs Driving Price Increases

Businesses point to a combination of factors behind the higher prices, including increased transportation costs, rising energy bills and more expensive raw materials.

For consumers, however, the result is simple: a larger dent in household budgets at a time when many are already feeling the impact of higher living expenses.

Paying More for Less

Beyond price hikes, consumers are also encountering another trend — smaller portions. In some cases, ice cream products have been reduced in size, allowing businesses to keep prices stable or increase them only slightly.

The effect, however, is that customers often end up paying more for a smaller quantity than in previous years.
