Greece’s army general staff unveiled a campaign this week to recruit women, aged 20 to 26, who wish to serve voluntarily in the armed forces.
A new video conveys a central message of “responsibility for the homeland concerns everyone,” with which the army promotes the active participation of women in the country’s defense, while also highlighting important professional prospects.
The video initially shows a young man and a young woman outside a new recruit training center.
In the end, the young woman is the one who enters the facility.
As the video continues, it depicts the training process with the participation of women, the awarding of their ranks, as well as the requirements set by the general staff for participants, while the main slogan is heard: “Responsibility for the homeland concerns me as well.”
Interested women between the ages of 20 and 26 can submit their applications online through the official website of the Greek army until March 31.
A series of incentives, such as preferential hiring for public sector jobs, is offered to young women willing to serve in the armed forces as volunteers.
