A 50-year-old man was killed Thursday afternoon in Leros in what authorities are describing as a criminal act, with police arresting his 18-year-old son in connection with the death.
According to information from local sources, the father and son became involved in a heated argument inside their home. The dispute reportedly escalated quickly and turned violent.
During the altercation, the two men are said to have thrown metal tools and other objects at each other. One of the objects allegedly struck the 50-year-old in the head, causing a severe injury that proved fatal.
The man was transported to the local hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Police officers who arrived at the scene arrested the 18-year-old, who allegedly confessed to the act, according to the same sources. A case file is being prepared, and the suspect is expected to appear before judicial authorities.
