Tuesday brings a clear shift to wetter conditions across Greece, with rain and thunderstorms expected mainly in the west. The Ionian Sea and the western mainland, including Epirus and western Central Greece, will see the most intense and persistent activity. Local showers and isolated storms are also likely in the southern Peloponnese, Crete and Thrace. Elsewhere, cloud cover will dominate with the possibility of brief, light showers. Elevated levels of Saharan dust will contribute to hazy skies in several regions.
Temperatures will remain high for the season. In Western Macedonia, values will range from 6°C to 18°C, while the rest of Macedonia and Thrace will see 9°C to 21°C. Thessaly will range from 10°C to 22°C, Epirus and western Central Greece from 13°C to 21°C, and the rest of Central Greece from 12°C to 24°C. The Peloponnese will experience 8°C to 23°C, the Ionian Islands 18°C to 21°C, the northern and eastern Aegean islands 13°C to 21°C, the Cyclades 16°C to 22°C, the Dodecanese 15°C to 21°C and Crete 10°C to 23°C.
Winds will strengthen across the Aegean. In the northern Aegean, southerlies of 5–7 Beaufort are expected, while the central and southern Aegean will experience 4–6 Beaufort. Winds in the Ionian will also blow from the south at 4–6 Beaufort.
In Athens, expect cloudy skies with the possibility of brief, light local showers. Southerly winds will reach 2–4 Beaufort, and temperatures in the city center will range between 17°C and 21°C.
In Thessaloniki, cloud cover will dominate with a chance of short-lived, light showers. Winds will blow from the east up to 3 Beaufort, with temperatures in the city center from 15°C to 21°C.
