Rain, Isolated Thunderstorms Expected Across Greece

Greece will experience unsettled weather with rain and isolated thunderstorms in several areas on Friday. Showers are expected across the Ionian Sea, the mainland, Crete, and gradually over Evia, the Sporades, the Cyclades, and the northern Aegean Islands. The most intense storms are likely to occur in western parts of the country.

Temperatures will range from 8°C to 14°C in Western Macedonia, 9°C to 21°C in the rest of Macedonia and Thrace, 12°C to 21°C in Thessaly, 12°C to 22°C in Epirus, and 11°C to 23°C in other mainland regions. In the Ionian Islands, temperatures will vary between 17°C and 22°C, while in the Aegean Islands they will reach 13°C to 23°C, and up to 24–25°C in Crete and the Dodecanese.

Winds in the Ionian Sea will blow from the southeast at 5–7 Beaufort, while in eastern regions they will be more variable, reaching 3–5 Beaufort.

In Athens, skies will be mostly cloudy, with local showers expected around midday and in the afternoon. Winds will shift from northerly to southeasterly at 2–4 Beaufort, and temperatures will range between 12°C and 22°C.

In Thessaloniki, increased cloud cover and scattered rain are expected. Winds will start from the northeast, turning southeasterly by midday at 2–3 Beaufort. Temperatures will range from 11°C to 20°C.
