Traffic in central Athens has been disrupted on Friday, September 5, as authorities enforce road closures for the Historic Acropolis Rally.
According to the traffic police, restrictions began at 8:00 a.m. with a temporary suspension of vehicle circulation at the Acropolis junction until 11:00 a.m. Additional closures are in effect from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Rovertou Galli Street, between Propylaea Street and the Acropolis junction.
Police have urged drivers to avoid the affected roads during these hours to prevent congestion and to follow the instructions of traffic officers managing the diversions.
The Historic Acropolis Rally, one of Greece’s most recognizable motorsport events, continues to draw crowds to the capital, though it also requires strict traffic measures in key areas around the Acropolis.
