A dramatic attempted robbery unfolded on Monday morning in the Athens suburb of Acharnes (also known as Menidi), when a store manager managed to lock two armed intruders inside the premises and alert the police.

According to reports, the two suspects entered a gaming store armed and demanded to be led to the safe. As the robbers were guided into the room where the safe was located, the quick-thinking manager seized the opportunity to lock the door from the outside, effectively trapping them inside.

Immediately after securing the door, the manager contacted the Hellenic Police (EL.AS.), triggering an emergency response.

A significant police presence has been deployed to the scene, and an operation is currently in progress to apprehend the suspects. At the same time, traffic police have implemented road diversions at the intersection of Dimokratias Avenue with Logothetidi and Kostis Palamas streets to manage the situation.
