A strong blast caused alarm in the city of Heraklion, Crete, on Wednesday morning, August 5, after a loud noise startled residents and workers in the area of Therissou Street.
The shockwave caused property damage, with windows breaking in nearby buildings, while several residents and employees rushed outside in fear after hearing the sudden sound.
Police and Fire Service units arrived at the scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Initial information indicates that the loud noise may have originated from a workshop belonging to a local business in the area. According to witnesses, the sound was so intense that it was heard across several surrounding city blocks.
