Travelers in Greece are advised to check with local port authorities before planning any trips today, Feb. 17, as gale-force winds sweep across the Ionian and Aegean Seas. Many ferry operators have canceled or modified their schedules in response to the severe weather.
Levante Ferries announced that the following routes will not operate due to adverse conditions:
• Zakynthos to Kyllini: 9:45 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
• Kyllini to Zakynthos: 11:45 a.m. and 4:15 p.m.
• Kyllini to Poros: 11:00 a.m. and 5:15 p.m.
• Poros to Kyllini: 3:15 p.m.
• Poros to Ithaca: 12:45 p.m.
• Ithaca to Poros: 1:45 p.m.
Meanwhile, Blue Star Ferries reported cancellations for:
• Blue Star 1 routes to Paros, Naxos, Ios, and Santorini (round trip)
• Fast Ferries Andros routes to Syros, Tinos, and Mykonos (round trip)
• Artemis routes to Paros, Serifos, Sifnos, Kimolos, and Milos (round trip)
Additional high-speed services from Piraeus will also be suspended, including:
• 9:00 a.m. Flying Cat 6 to Poros, Hydra, and Spetses (round trip)
• 10:40 a.m. Aero Highspeed 2 to Aegina (round trip)
• 12:30 p.m. Aero Highspeed 2 to Aegina and Agistri (round trip)
• 2:40 p.m. Aero Highspeed 2 to Aegina (round trip)
• 4:30 p.m. Aero Highspeed 2 to Aegina and Agistri (round trip)
• 5:00 p.m. Aero Highspeed 1 to Poros, Hydra, Ermioni, Spetses, and Porto Heli (round trip)
