A 15-year-old boy was attacked in northern Greece in what authorities describe as a fan-related incident, highlighting ongoing concerns over youth violence linked to sports rivalries.
The assault took place in the area of Koufalia, near Thessaloniki, where the teenager reported being targeted by two individuals—a peer and a 20-year-old.
Assault and theft reported
According to police, the attackers physically assaulted the victim, striking him in the face, before taking a shirt bearing the emblem of a local sports team.
The victim later reported the incident to authorities, prompting an investigation that led to the identification and arrest of the alleged perpetrators.
Arrests and legal action
Both suspects were arrested on charges of bodily harm and violations of sports-related legislation. In addition, the father of the underage suspect was also taken into custody, facing charges related to neglect of parental supervision.
