Video footage captures the moment a 15-year-old fleeing police ran a red light, collided with a car and struck a traffic police motorcycle before being arrested in central Athens

A 15-year-old boy riding a stolen motorcycle injured a police officer during a dramatic chase in central Athens, according to authorities.

Video footage obtained by a local media outlet shows the teenager attempting to evade pursuing officers, driving recklessly through busy streets. The minor is seen running a red light before crashing into a moving car that was crossing the intersection.

Police officers tried to block his path and bring him to a stop as confusion unfolded around the scene. Passersby appeared stunned, with several stopping to understand what was happening as the pursuit continued.

Despite the initial collision, the teenager allegedly made a sudden maneuver in an attempt to escape, striking a traffic police motorcycle. One of the officers involved in the operation sustained minor injuries in the impact.

The suspect was eventually immobilized and arrested. He was taken to a central Athens police station, where officers confirmed his age and established that the motorcycle had been reported stolen a few days earlier.

The injured officer was transported to a military hospital for first aid. His condition is not considered serious.
