Athens’ Syntagma Square was filled with thousands of demonstrators on Sunday, as people from across Greece gathered to express their support for the Palestinian people.
The rally, part of nationwide solidarity actions organised by the March to Gaza initiative, was one of more than 100 events held across the country on the same day.
Protesters chanted slogans such as “Freedom for Palestine” and “No cooperation with Israel,” sending what organisers described as a clear and powerful message of resistance to ongoing Israeli actions in Gaza.
The Athens demonstration followed similar gatherings in cities, towns, and islands, with over 70 demonstration sites nationwide, uniting participants from diverse backgrounds in what was widely seen as one of the most visible shows of pro-Palestinian sentiment in Greece in recent years.
Organisers said the aim was to highlight the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and call for stronger international pressure to protect civilians and end the violence.
