Shocking footage from Lefkada shows a tourist bus making a dangerous pass on a bridge, crossing into the opposite lane and overtaking a line of stopped vehicles, according to a report by Greek broadcaster ALPHA.
The incident was captured on a cellphone camera as the bus traveled across the Lefkada bridge. The footage shows the driver crossing the double solid center line and passing the stationary cars, despite the apparent presence of vehicles traveling in the opposite direction.
Overtaking is prohibited at the location because of the double solid line on the road.
The bus appears to travel a considerable distance along the bridge while remaining in the opposing lane. It is not known whether passengers were aboard the vehicle at the time.
One oncoming driver was forced to stop after seeing the large bus approaching in the same lane. To avoid a collision, the driver moved the car as close as possible to the bridge’s barrier.
