Temporary traffic restrictions are in effect today (May 5) in central Athens from 8:00 am to 11:00 am, due to the staging of the 9th “Pedion Areos – In the Neighborhoods of Athens” road race.
According to the authorities, a series of temporary road closures, along with parking and stopping bans, will be implemented on key streets surrounding Pedion Areos and across the wider Municipality of Athens.
The measures apply along the full length of the following streets, as well as on all intersecting roads up to their first parallel:
Mavrommateon
Evelpidon
Moustoxydi
Valtinon
Bousgou
Pringiponnison
Aglaofontos
Megaloupoleos
Gyzi Square
Gyzi
Momferatou
P. Ieremiou
Lombardou
Varvaki
Additional traffic adjustments will also affect Alexandras Avenue, specifically the section between Moustoxydi and Mavrommateon streets. In the direction toward Patission Street, traffic will be restricted in the right-hand lane.
Drivers are advised to plan their routes accordingly and expect delays in the affected areas during the specified hours.
