An elderly man in Kryopigi, Halkidiki, lost his life after being crushed by his own car, under circumstances still under investigation. Police, who have opened an inquiry into the conditions surrounding the accident, confirmed the victim was 84 years old.
The incident occurred in the yard of his home, with the Fire Service’s Operations Center notified around 10 p.m. on Saturday. Four firefighters with two vehicles responded to the scene. Using rescue equipment, they freed the elderly man and pulled him out unconscious.
He was picked up by EKAB (the National Emergency Aid Center) and taken to the Kassandra Health Center, where he was pronounced dead.
