According to the Hellenic Coast Guard, a 65-year-old Serbian national was recovered unconscious from the sea off Glarokavos Beach in the Municipality of Kassandra, on the Halkidiki peninsula, on Tuesday morning.
The 65-year-old was transported by ambulance to the Kassandra Health Center, where he was pronounced dead. The Second Coast Guard Department of Nea Moudania, operating under the Central Port Authority of Thessaloniki, is conducting the preliminary investigation and has ordered an autopsy to be carried out by the Thessaloniki Forensic Medical Service.
On Monday afternoon, a 78-year-old Greek woman was pulled unconscious from the sea off Korinos Beach in the regional unit of Pieria.
The woman was initially given first aid, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), before being transported by ambulance to Katerini General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The Third Coast Guard Department of Skala Katerinis, under the Central Port Authority of Thessaloniki, is leading the preliminary investigation and has also ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
