Changeable conditions are forecast across Greece today, Orthodox Palm Sunday, April 5, 2026. Increased cloud cover with local showers is expected in Thessaly, the Sporades, eastern Central Greece, Evia, and parts of the southern islands through the afternoon.
Isolated thunderstorms may occur in the morning over Evia, the Sporades, and the Cyclades, and later in the day over Crete and mountainous mainland areas. Elsewhere, generally fair skies will give way to cloud build-up, bringing brief showers or storms.
Northerly winds will blow at 3 to 5 Beaufort, reaching up to 6 in the Aegean. Temperatures will edge higher, particularly in the west and north, ranging from 17°C to 19°C and locally up to 21°C.
During Holy Week, conditions will be mostly stable with some variability. On Holy Monday (April 6), largely fair weather is expected, with localized afternoon showers in Crete, the southern Dodecanese, and inland mountainous areas. Temperatures may reach 23°C.
Holy Tuesday (April 7) will be mostly clear, with passing cloud inland and a slight chance of showers in northern mountains, as temperatures continue to rise. On Holy Wednesday (April 8), fair conditions will persist in the west and south, while cloud and local rain develop over mainland regions and the northern Aegean.
By Holy Thursday (April 9), the west remains mostly clear, while the rest of the country will see some cloud and scattered showers. Visibility may be limited in western areas due to morning and evening fog, while temperatures ease slightly, returning to seasonal levels.
