Warm, Breezy Monday in Greece with Local Showers

Mild November temperatures, strong southerly winds over the seas, and patchy visibility mark Monday’s weather, with showers mainly in western and northern regions.

Monday brings a mix of cloud cover and local showers across Greece, with conditions remaining unusually mild for the season. Early in the day, light rain is expected over Thrace and possibly the eastern Aegean islands, spreading gradually to the Ionian Sea, Epirus, and western Central Greece. By late afternoon, thunderstorms may develop over the northern Ionian and Epirus. Local showers could also appear in Eastern Central Greece and southern Evia.

Visibility will be reduced at times during the morning and evening, particularly across central and northern inland areas. Atmospheric patterns will also favor the transport of Sahara dust, which may lead to hazy skies in several regions.

Temperatures will remain high for mid-November, ranging from 3°C to 20°C in northern Greece (0°C to 17°C in Western Macedonia), 9°C to 22°C in central and southern regions, 8°C to 21°C in western Greece (2°C to 18°C in Epirus), 11°C to 21°C in the Cyclades and 8°C to 23°C in Crete, 8°C to 20°C in the eastern Aegean islands, and 12°C to 21°C in the Dodecanese.

Southerly winds will strengthen over the seas. In the Aegean, winds will blow from the south at 4–5 Beaufort, increasing to 6 Beaufort in the northeastern Aegean. In the Ionian, southeasterly winds of 4–5 Beaufort will locally reach 6 Beaufort.

In Athens, expect periods of cloudiness with a chance of light showers later in the day. Visibility may be locally reduced in the morning and evening. Temperatures will range between 12°C and 20°C, slightly cooler in the northern suburbs. Southerly winds will strengthen during the day to 4–5 Beaufort.

In Thessaloniki, some cloudiness and patchy morning and evening fog are expected. Temperatures will reach 10°C to 20°C, with light to briefly moderate southeasterly winds in the Thermaic Gulf.
